According to the State of Florida, Miami-Dade County had 65,986 automobile accidents in 2017. That’s a 3% increase compared to 2016.
Miami-Dade Fatalities
Despite the increase in overall accidents, fatalities were down 3% with 285 deaths compared to 294 in 2016 and 339 fatalities in 2015. Only 0.4% of all accidents in 2017 resulted in a fatality.
Miami-Dade Injuries
Injuries were down 3% as well with 32,389 injuries in 2017. That means 49% of all accidents in 2017 resulted in an injury.
