The Miami International Auto Show, the largest auto show in South Florida, comes back to the Miami Beach Convention Center this weekend. The show, which is recognized as one of the largest and most prestigious in the nation, will feature more than a thousand new vehicles from over 40 manufacturers from around the world – a collection that auto enthusiasts wait all year to see.
Growing up in Miami as a young car lover in the pre-Internet days, the show was a must attend event. It was the only time a kid got to be BIG and jump inside hundreds of cars. It was also the only place where you could get all those color brochures that detailed the unique features of each car. It was a bonding time where dad would take my brother and I to Miami Beach at night. As a kid, it was always exciting to see the night lights of Miami Beach as we cruised over the causeway.
Now, I take my children to the show. They too have enjoyed hopping into hundreds of cars and falling in love with many of them. Of course, the wife doesn’t want to be left behind as she’s interested in seeing the new models and the latest in luxury transportation.
AUTO SHOW DEBUTS
The Miami Auto Show has been home to many debuts. This year the show announced that Nissan will debut the all new, next generation 2023 Nissan Z at the Miami Auto Show. This is the first United States Auto Show to feature the 2023 Nissan Z.
The show also announced that it will be the Florida debut the new 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross.
OFFICIAL SHOW CAR
The Miami Auto Show announced that the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is the “Official Show Car!” We love this pick. It’s sexy. It’s powerful. And it looks so good in Miami.
In addition to hundreds of cars presented by the manufacturers, the Miami International Auto Show has confirmed some additional showcases. The MPH Club will be in attendance. In fact, they’re offering 1 hour luxury car rentals from Oct 16 – 17 and October 22 – 24.
The Miami Auto Show will also have a lineup of classic cars that make up the Memory Lane exhibit. We love seeing so many classics under an air conditioned roof.

50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
This year marks 50 years since the show first started back in 1971. In those days a gallon of gas was just 36 cents. (I’ve seen gas these days around $3.60….ouch!)
The last few years have been tough on the Auto Show. In 2017 the show was cancelled following Hurricane Irma. In 2020 the show was cancelled due to COVID-19. So it’s truly a pleasure to have the show back in full force for 2021.
The show opens on Saturday, October 16th, and runs through Sunday, October 24th, at the same location it’s enjoyed for years, the beautiful Miami Beach Convention Center.
Admission to the auto show is $13 for adults, $6 children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. A $3.00 discount on admission will be extended to first responders, heath care workers and active duty military with valid identification. Residents of Miami Beach can also enjoy a $3.00 reduced admission with proof of residency.
