WASHINGTON (Sept. 12, 2019) — The National Transportation Safety Board announced its intention to hold a public board meeting Oct. 22, 2019, 9:30 a.m., to determine the probable cause of the March 15, 2018, FIU pedestrian bridge collapse.
Six people died and ten others were injured when the 174-foot span of the FIU pedestrian bridge collapsed onto SW 8th Street in Miami. The bridge was under construction at the time of the accident.
