Description
This 1949 Chevrolet 3100 have been refurbished with work concluded in June 2023 that involved refinishing the exterior in blue and installing plaid interior upholstery. Power comes from a replacement BluePrint 383ci small-block V8 paired with a TCI Automotive four-speed automatic transmission. Additional modifications include FiTech fuel injection, Billet Specialities valve covers, an MSD distributor, an aluminum radiator with electric fans, a custom dual exhaust system, a partially boxed frame, adjustable coilovers with a Mustang II front and a four-link rear suspension, a narrowed Strange Engineering 9 rear end, staggered-size aftermarket US Mag Wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, a one-piece curved windshield, smoothed cab louvers, rounded rear bed corners, hidden tailgate latches, Phoenix Customs inner wheel tubs, wooden bed planks, a rear roll pan, New Vintage USA instrumentation, and air conditioning.
During the refurbishment, the body reportedly was refinished in the Porsche shade of Graphite Blue Metallic following bodywork that included smoothing louvers on the cab, rounding the rear bed corners, and installing Phoenix Customs inner wheel tubs and a rear roll pan. Additional features include a single-piece curved windshield and Bear Claw door latches as well as a chrome-finished grille, front bumper, and hidden tailgate latches.
Staggered-width 18 and 20 US Mag polished wheels are mounted with Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs with a Wilwood master cylinder, and the suspension uses adjustable coilovers with a Ford Mustang II front suspension and a four-link rear.
The bed is composed of dark-stained and clear coated wood planks with bright dividing strips. A black anodized billet fuel-filler cap protrudes from one of the planks, and the wheel wells have been modified with dimple-die openings.
The cabin features custom elements that include a split bench seat trimmed in tan with plaid fabric inserts, with matching door panels and headliner treatments. Amenities include a cupholder center console, air conditioning, a chrome-finished tilting steering column, and power-assisted steering.
A banjo-style steering wheel fronts a color-matched and smooth dashboard that houses New Vintage USA instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer with inset gauges measuring oil pressure, water temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates zero miles, and the seller states that approximately 10 miles have been added since completion of the refurbishment
The factory straight-six has been succeeded by a replacement 383ci stroker V8 from BluePrint Engines that features Billet Specialties valve covers, air cleaner, and serpentine belt system as well as an FiTech fuel-injection system, an MSD distributor, a finned oil pan, a four-core aluminum radiator, three electric fans, a Tanks Inc. fuel tank, and an FiTech external fuel pump. The firewall has been smoothed and bead-rolled.
Power is directed to the rear wheels through a TCI Automotive replacement four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission and a Strange Engineering narrowed 9 rear end with a Speedway Motors 31-spline third member. A rack-and-pinion steering system has been retrofitted, and the frame has been partially boxed. Tubular headers are connected to a dual exhaust system that terminates ahead of the rear axle and has Flowmaster Flow FX mufflers.
