The Chevy Corvette is one of the most popular sports cars built and also known as the Vette; a two-door, two-passenger luxury sports car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet since 1953. The first model was named after a type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. The Vette has become an American icon of success and synonymous with freedom and adventure and ranks at the top of the competitive luxury sports car class. Competitors are vehicles such as the Porsche, Audi R8, BMW i8, McLaren, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bugatti, and Maserati.
