A first model year example of the Daihatsu Rugger, this model sports the serial number F70-000258, meaning it was the 258th model ever built. This vehicle was optioned with both air conditioning and the highest spec engine available, the Daihatsu 2.8L Turbo Diesel, making it what would have been one of the most premium models when new. Featuring a cloth top with safari style roll up rear windows, this Rugger makes for a great beach cruiser or grocery getter in sunny Florida. Exterior-wise and mechanically, this 38 year old car shows very well, and has all the presence of a full-sized Tonka truck. Lightly driven 2020 BF Goodrich K02s wrap the factory wheels, including the spare. The interior is very simple, all rubber, no carpet. Original rubber floor mats, steering wheel, and wooden MOMO shift knob are present. Both seats are split, and would need to be reupholstered to be 100% perfect. They are still comfortable under the covers though. The cloth top is also in need of some repair, there are no holes and it will keep you dry, but the canvas has shrunk over time making it difficult to fully secure the rear windows. The interior beneath the floor mats and in the trunk have cosmetic rust. A rear seat that is easily removed sports a 3 person bench as well.
