1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

A gem of a Jeep! 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, with only 101,531 miles! Beautiful truck that puts a smile on everyone’s face wherever it goes.

Was my daily driver for a few months while getting my other car repaired, and during that time I replaced most of the A/C system (compressor, hoses, thermostat, condenser, dryer, etc) as well as the water pump, radiator, and cooling fan. Now it will sit in traffic, keeping you cool and maintaining itself cool. (Very useful here in South Florida). Rebuilt the carburetor, and ignition system so it fires up no problem. Never fear the carburetor! All the exterior lights have been upgraded to LED, except for the brake lights as to keep the Cruise control working. That’s right, it has functional cruise control!

Morning startup procedure, was always key on, pump gas three times, crank. Fires up and goes to high idle. After 30 seconds, tap the gas and it’s on low idle ready to drive away! Really such a sweetheart. I bought most of the parts to convert to an efi system, but the carburetor worked so well I didn’t see the need.

A few months ago, the transmission started acting up, so I had it rebuilt at a local shop. Simple transmission, so the technician had no troubles, and now it’s driving like new again.

After the daily routine, she got a much needed repaint of the hood and roof, to take care of the usual south Florida clear coat failure, and now it looks as good as it runs!

Now that the other car is done, I’m just not driving this one enough. I’d like for another Jeep fan to continue the adventures for this one. Would make a great cars and coffee rig, or tv commercial model. Would be a shame to leave this truck on a battery tender in it’s garage. It loves driving around!

Facebook only allows 20 pictures and a video, please let me know if you’d like any other pictures and I’ll do my best to get them to you. Like I said, I want this to go to a Jeep fan. They’re quirky vehicles, but this is about as well sorted as they come. The rear window even works from both the inside and outside switches!

Downsides, the temperature and compass in the overhead doesn’t work, and the steering wheel is getting worn. The video really makes it sound like the power steering pump is going out, but it’s not leaking (yes it’s full :D) and seems to be working fine as it’ll turn with one finger no problem.

Please reach out with any questions, make offers, or just talk about these Jeeps! I know I’ll be getting another one in the future! This one though, needs to go to a good home.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
