1999 Jeep Cherokee SE XJ 4×4 – 84,094 miles – Second Owner – Rebuildable Title

· Basics. 4WD, 4.0L Inline 6-Cylinder Gas Engine, Automatic Transmission, A/C, Power Doors, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, ABS, Rear Wiper, Cruise Control, Tilt Wheel, Kenwood AM/FM Stereo System (stock from Jeep), Center Console, Slate Grey Cloth Interior.

· Backstory. My loss is your gain. Unfortunately, this very clean, low mileage (84k), 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4×4 was hit by a careless driver last October. While it still runs down the road, the frame is bent and is ready for someone to take over, where I left off. After settling with my insurance company, I am re-selling this Jeep with a “Salvage Rebuildable Title” from Florida. I bought the Jeep from a US government agency in central Tennessee in May 2021. I believe they used the Jeep to make service calls, as there was a small antenna mounted on the roof and a left-over radio bracket near the center console. They were the sole owner before me, so it was definitely not used for weekend four-wheeling adventures. There is no deep rust, which common with Jeeps from up North. The minimal surface corrosion on a small part of the roof is from being parked under oak trees in Tennessee. The interior is nearly spotless, other than the headliner needs replacing. I was planning to keep this Jeep as my long-term driver. I was in the middle of restorative work when the accident occurred. Due to frequent business travel, I simply don’t have the time to finish what I started.

· Engine. The top half of the engine was rebuilt, even though there were no mechanical issues. I simply planned on keeping my Jeep long-term. Updates include: brand new cylinder head with enlarged ports for water circulation. Note: I sold the original head to a local shop, because it was still in excellent condition. Along with the new head, my mechanic added a Cometic, 5-ply head gasket and ARP head bolts. The engine has always run strongly, and the transmission and transfer case are solid. Front and Rear Dana 44 differentials. The A/C runs cold. Other than the body damage, this is a solid Jeep.

· Upgrades. New battery (2021) cylinder head, Cometic gasket, ARP head bolts, NGK spark plugs & plug wires, Summit distributor cap & rotor, Bosch fuel injectors, aluminum radiator, power steering pump, fan clutch, high output cooling fan, oil filter, anti-freeze, serpentine belt, pulleys, water pump, timing chain, and oil change. $400 Viper Alarm system with keyless remote FOB professionally installed. About $5K in parts and labor.

· Challenges. The frame is bent from the driver’s side towards the passenger side. The passenger door only opens about halfway. The frame can be straightened, according to my mechanic. Because of the hit, the main cooling fan cowling was damaged beyond repair, as was the secondary A/C cooling fan. The muffler is original and probably will need replacement, due to age, as well as the headliner.

· Extras. Parts included are the top of dash trim/cowling, rear interior trim/cowlings, rear upper trim cowling for tailgate door, brand new MOPAR cooling fan shroud, and various other parts. The original visors and center console cover can easily be re-installed and are included. See pics for full view of parts.

· More Information is Available. Due to limitations on the eBay platform, there are additional photos, videos, mechanical receipts, parts receipts, and repair estimates, available upon request. I will send you a link from my Microsoft OneDrive, whereby you can download the entire folder of detailed information.
