’03 MK4 Jetta Turbo with many upgrades. This car is extremely fast, yet built strategically to be daily driven without any issues. Always garage kept, always hand washed, and has always been rust-free. Adult driven and kept in the same family since 2006. Created, cared for, and driven with love. There are very few 2003 MK4 Jettas GLS available on the market that are clean, low mileage, and have been properly maintained over the years. This is one of them. It’s also the only one in the country for sale this clean, this fast, and built with the driver and the lifespan of the car in mind. If you’re a serious buyer or enthusiast, you’ll take the time to read the following info that has been carefully put together about this special car.

We have personally known this vehicle since it was in the hands of the 2nd owner in 2006.

The power of this 1.8L Turbo begins with a cold-air intake (positioned low and forward for optimum cool air – not sucking in engine heat like many do) which helps to effortlessly spool the upgraded K04 turbo which feeds directly into an ABD Racing intake manifold. The car utilizes the stock fuel pump and injectors, and has a high-performance radiator as well as an oversized, front mounted inter-cooler to aid in maintaining ridiculously stable temperatures. On the backside of the you’ll find a 3-inch down pipe connected to a full 3-inch (FULL STAINLESS STEEL) custom Magnaflow exhaust that runs all the way to the back. If you want it to, at wide-open-throttle, this car will make 25psi of boost. It is a sub-13 second car on street tires, and, has absolutely no problem handling the power. In fact, after much play and tuning, it has been perfected with all of the best supporting mods (upgraded boost pipes, etc.) including a N75 wastegate and the largest diverter that space allows for. It also has a GIAC tune with a 93-octane race curve. Estimated horsepower is 300+, and that is without any exaggeration. It may very well be a solid 325hp. Put it altogether and this MK4 will move very, very easily.

One of the main reasons this car was built was to achieve the optimal mix of high-performance and daily driveability. This car does not and has never overheated, does not burn oil, and has absolutely no leaks. It was built properly, cleanly, and with no expense excluded to meet the desired functionality.

It’s extremely reliable, and this is most likely owed to the extensive man-hours that were put into preparing, planning, and executing the Turbo system to not only make a lot of power, but stay cool and breathe easily. It’s simple to put bolt-on a turbo and watch your motor and supporting components suffer and fail soon after; but it takes a dedicated person to do things right and spend the endless hours tuning and adjusting for perfection while continually testing the vehicle to achieve perfection. This car was lucky enough to have THAT person dedicated to the work, and it shows every time it’s started up and driven. You can drive it completely normally with no turbo lag or any idea that the car is actually built and get extremely good gas mileage. On the other hand, you can drive it hard and give almost anything on the street a run for its money.

As far as care and maintenance are concerned…. This car has always been run with synthetic fluids (Mobil 1 engine oil, Redline trans fluid, etc.), an oversized oil filter to allow for additional oil capacity and heat/wear protection, and colder spark plugs that aid in this motor’s turbo setup to eliminate ignition issues and premature plug wear/fouling. It has aluminum shifter bushings and a poly dogbone mount has been added for maximum engine support and stability. A new timing belt, waterpump and tensioner pulley were installed as preventative maintenance at 85k miles. The battery is brand new, and the oil was changed less than 50 miles ago.

This car has perfect weatherstripping, door jambs that you could eat off of, doors that shut solid and without a squesk, and power windows that glide up and down effortlessly. The car suffers no squeaks, creaks, or rattles. No cracked plastics, no broken buttons, and no missing bolts or fasteners. The underside is bone dry, incredibly clean, and damage-free. The car was never driven in snow and only driven in rain when it was unintentionally caught in sudden storm weather. It has been aesthetically babied, and any unpreventable wear is simply from the fact that this is a 20-year old car at this point. Leather seats have always been conditioned with high-quality product, paint has been maintained and protected at all times, and is in incredibly proper condition. Any imperfections are absolutely minor, and every last thing on this vehicle works as it should, including the moonroof, power locks, cruise control, interior & exterior lighting, etc.. No mechanical or electrical bugs.

It sits on factory suspension with flawless 18″ Enkei Enosis wheels wrapped with like-new Dunlop Direzza tires. It has a stubby antenna for aesthetics, and a custom-fit AutoMeter Sport-Comp boost gauge that integrates directly and replaces the factory steering column’s cover for optimal visibility. It’s a single integrated piece, not a strap-on to the steering column type of deal. Again, done right. It looks and functions beautifully and rests in the perfect position for observation, in the same direct line of sight as the other gauges.

The car drives and handles great, like new. It has no hidden clunks, squeaks, groans, or issues. With the 18-inch wheels and the power it makes, however, the handling could be improved by a buyer who replaces the well-maintained factory suspension with a set of coilovers and a slight lowering. However, this is up to you and your personal preference. If you know anything about these cars and the MK4 in general, you can be confident that it handles and rides exactly as expected.

The coolant and thermostat have been replaced each and every year for at least the last 15 years as preventative maintenance procedure. Air filter cleaned with every wash. Brake fluid changed every 3 years maximum. As stated in the title, this is a very special car and will last a lifetime if properly cared for. This motor – yes, even built as it is – will easily go to 200k+ miles as long as it is cared for and not neglected.

The car currently has 87,460 miles. It has less than 3k miles since the initial turbo/performance upgrades were completed.
