This is a historical part of US spy equipment used in the field. This van was setup as an off grid communications post that connected to unclassified and classified networks. The van is a iconic piece of hardware. The van looks practically brand new. With only 1667 miles on it means the Duramax 2500 motor and transmission haven’t even been broken in yet. The mobile communication spy van was working “off the grid” being that it had a couple of inverters to generate AC power many computers and monitors. Internal secondary AC system. The vehicle still has the connections listed on the wiring panel listed as nipernet/sipernet and satellite uplink connections. There is a command and control office that was setup and used for collections. This is “COTS” civilian off the self components that where integrated for it’s operational use. What is listed is how the van will be sold. All the extra items have for the most part been removed. I like to call it the “Snowden Van”.
