2009 Volkswagen Routan SEL, 74K miles, original owner. No accidents, no repainted areas, no rust, no leaks, no issues, freezing AC, clean FL title. This minivan has the same chassis and drivetrain as the Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Caravan. VW stiffened the suspension, modernized the interior, and modified some of the exterior panels. SEL was the top of the line and sold for over $40,000 in 2009. 4.0 liter engine, heated seats, triple zone AC system, leather, tow package, sunroof, electric folding rear seats, removable middle seats (can turn into a cargo van), under floor storage and all of the other perks like cruise control, power drivers seat, power windows, etc.
This car has been meticulously maintained. Recent scheduled transmission service (valve body and neutral safety switch replaced at same time), brake fluid flush, and radiator flush. Oil was changed 10 miles ago. Rear brake pads 10k miles ago, front brake pads 5K miles ago. The ignition was recalled, so two new key fobs. 25 mpg on the highway. Tires have 50% tread left. Optima battery.
Car has spent most of its life in California and Colorado. It was always the third vehicle for road trips, so miles are mostly highway. Dent in drivers front fender, a paintless dent guy could most likely fix this. Car was mostly garaged, so the clear coat is holding up fine. The van hasn’t really ever towed anything except a bike rack. However, with a long wheel base, 251 hp, and self adjusting rear shocks….it would tow better than lots of trucks.
It is a great vehicle and we hate to sell it. Kids are grown, so family road trips are a thing of the past. All replacement mechanical parts are Chrysler, so you can enjoy German styling with American maintenance costs. No hidden surprises with this vehicle.
