The Cadillac CTS is a luxury sports sedan that was produced by the American automaker Cadillac from 2003 to 2019. The CTS was designed to compete with other premium luxury sports sedans, such as the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and was offered with a range of powerful engines, advanced technology features, and a spacious and well-appointed interior. The CTS was known for its aggressive styling, powerful engines, and excellent handling and road manners. The Cadillac CTS was replaced by the Cadillac CT5 in 2020. CTS also competes with the Audi A6, Lexus GS and Infiniti Q70, all of which offer similar levels of luxury, performance, and technology features as the Cadillac CTS, but with different strengths and weaknesses, allowing customers to choose a vehicle that fits their specific needs and preferences. Overall, the Cadillac CTS has been considered to have average to slightly below-average reliability. In various reliability surveys and studies, the CTS has received mixed reviews, with some owners reporting few issues and others experiencing more significant problems. CTS received generally good safety ratings from various organizations, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In NHTSA testing, the CTS received a 5-star overall safety rating, with 4 stars in front crash protection and 5 stars in side crash protection. In IIHS testing, the CTS received Good ratings in most categories, including moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats, as well as an Advanced rating for front crash prevention when equipped with the optional front crash prevention system.
