According to multiple local reports, The Ticket Clinic just won a case in Miami-Dade County that could potentially throw out thousands of red light camera tickets.
At the root of the matter is that each municipality has unique rules for determining what is and is not a red light traffic infringement when caught on camera. As a result, there is no uniformity statewide.
The Miami Herald quoted Miami-Dade Judge, Steven Leifman as follows: “How is a driver to know that the guidelines of the [red-light camera programs] vary from municipality to municipality?”
The issue now goes directly to the appeals court and could possibly end up in the Florida Supreme Court.
