AMSTERDAM – Stellantis N.V. has honored six startup partners and two startups backed by the Stellantis Ventures capital fund with its fourth annual Venture Awards, recognizing bold innovations and high-impact collaborations that are shaping the future of mobility and delivering customers meaningful value. “These startups help us go faster and further in creating technology that improves people’s lives,” said Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer at Stellantis. “We’re proud to work alongside such inventive teams as we build products and services that truly matter to our customers.” The 2025 Venture Awards spotlight companies selected for their innovation, tangible results, and potential to scale across Stellantis brands and platforms. Honorees are grouped into three focus areas: CARE: NetZero (France) – Operates in the tropics to scale up biochar production, a solution that removes carbon from the atmosphere by leveraging nature and technology. Biochar also offers numerous co-benefits, especially in agriculture, where it improves soil quality, increases yields, and reduces the need for synthetic fertilizers. Trashin (Brazil) – Specializes in sustainable waste management, the circular economy, and reverse logistics, unlocking opportunities for refusal, remanufacturing, and recycling of waste materials. TECH: Ample (United States) – Offers a modular, drop-in battery-swapping system, which enables a full charge in under five minutes, delivering a fast, convenient, and cost-effective energy solution. Ample’s modular solution is already deployed in Madrid to support Free2move’s Fiat 500e car-sharing fleet. Hive Power (Switzerland) – Stellantis tested Hive Power’s FLEXO optimization platform to aggregate EVs for Virtual Power Plant and V2X applications. This powerful combination creates new revenue opportunities for company fleets. HMDrive (Italy) – Redefines the driving experience with augmented reality. Its patented tracking algorithms and transparent AR glasses make driving more effective, immersive and safe, in any vehicle and for any driver. VALUE: Dexory (United Kingdom) – Dexory’s autonomous robotics and AI-powered platform create a real-time digital twin of warehouse operations, enabling real-time tracking, anomaly detection and actionable insights to optimize space, streamline labor and improve accuracy across global supply chains. Cloud Ace (Japan) – A global Managed Service Provider (MSP), Cloud Ace drives digital transformation for businesses worldwide by harnessing the power and flexibility of cloud platforms. A sell-out race week crowd of 332,000 witnessed a spectacular grid of 21 Hypercars – representing eight manufacturers – do battle as TOYOTA GAZOO Racing aimed for its sixth win at La Sarthe.On the 40th anniversary of Toyota’s first Le Mans participation, the team took the fight to its rivals with effective strategy, precise driving and fighting spirit. But a promising race ultimately did not meet expectations as misfortune and a blistering pace at the front thwarted the team’s charge.Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries valiantly overcame first-lap damage to recover from their disappointing qualifying. They gained 10 places and finished a hard-earned sixth in the #7 GR010 HYBRID.Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa led the race at one stage and were challenging for a top-four finish when a mechanical issue cost over 20 minutes and dropped the #8 GR010 HYBRID out of contention. They eventually finished 16th.The race started with action from the off, and both GR010 HYBRIDs gained positions during the opening hours to move towards the front. While the #8 crew fought their way into the top six, the #7 suffered bodywork damage on the first lap and later incurred a 50-second stop-go penalty for pit lane speeding.The #8 battled into podium contention thanks to strong pace on soft tyres through the night, before a safety car at half distance created new opportunities by compressing the field. The #8 took the lead as lap 200 approached and the #7 – with its earlier deficit now wiped out – moved into the top 10.As the final quarter of the race approached, a strong team effort had established the #8 in the top six and in a close fight with a Ferrari and a Porsche for an even higher finish. The #7 recovered to eighth, but the pace at the front was ultimately too hot for the GR010 HYBRIDs and the podium proved out of reach.With four hours remaining, the #8 GR010 HYBRID’s challenge was ended when a broken component caused its front left wheel to detach. After returning to the pits on three wheels, mechanics worked together quickly to replace the front left assembly. Ryo resumed in 19th, having lost seven laps.The #7 never stopped pushing and Kamui’s pace over the final hours brought the #12 Cadillac – which at one stage had been a minute ahead – into range, until a late drive through penalty ended that charge.Kamui took the flag in sixth after completing 386 laps while the #8 crew finished 16th, seven laps behind the winner.TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has only four weeks until it returns to racing and renews its bid for a first victory of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season. The 6 Hours of São Paulo takes place at Interlagos on 13 July.

While briefly looking back on how we came to consider this collaboration, I would like to talk about our four companies' shared desire. The starting point of this collaboration is the shared desire to create the future of commercial vehicles together, by leveraging the strengths of Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino to protect our business foundations in Japan and Asia. Two and a half years ago, Daimler Truck’s then-CEO Martin Daum and Toyota’s then-President Akio Toyoda began this collaboration based on a shared vision and sense of values. Companies with different histories and cultures coming together like this meant we needed to overcome various challenges. Although there were times when differences in ideas on how to move forward with integration were hard to bridge, our four companies took the time to repeatedly engage in dialogue and deepen mutual understanding, driven by the empathy and trust shared by the leaders. I believe that our unwavering commitment to the future of commercial vehicles enabled us to overcome difficulties and keep moving forward toward integration. In the course of our discussions, Daimler Truck CEO Karin Rådström shared the following thoughts. Daimler Truck values being a company rooted in the local community. The integrated company should be a truly global company rooted in Japan. I couldn't have agreed more. Mr. Deppen, who will head the integrated company, is the right person to lead a truly global company rooted in Japan. He has been involved in the Japanese truck industry for more than 20 years and has extensive global experience. Under Mr. Deppen's leadership, I believe that Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino will be able to create synergies through this integration, while honing the manufacturing capabilities that both have cultivated as truck manufacturers. This integration will not only secure the scale needed to compete globally, but also bring the strengths of Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino together to expand their respective areas of expertise, accelerating technological development and increasing production efficiencies. Going forward, the two companies will work together to strengthen their business bases in Japan and Asia, and Daimler Truck and Toyota will support the integrated company in improving its competitiveness, based on CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) technologies. Also, we would like to apply our four-company framework to accelerate the implementation of CASE technologies toward solving social issues surrounding commercial vehicles, including achieving carbon neutrality.
