AUBURN HILLS – Chrysler officially turns 100 today, June 6, 2025, and the brand is celebrating by recognizing the people who have powered its path to the century mark — a rare accomplishment for any brand or company. More than 1,500 employees came together at the Chrysler Technology Center campus in Auburn Hills, Michigan, on Thursday, June 5, to participate in a special group “birthday” photo honoring the thousands who have worked over the decades to make 100 years of Chrysler possible. “Chrysler held a pivotal role in shaping both the automotive industry and American culture, standing as a symbol of innovation, resilience, and breakthrough design for 100 years,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler brand CEO. “From the revolutionary, powerful HEMI® V-8 engine to inventing the minivan and introducing innovations like Stow ‘n Go seating, Chrysler has consistently pushed boundaries. As one of the original Big Three, we’ve helped drive industrial growth and have left an indelible mark with vehicles like the Chrysler 300. But Chrysler is more than a brand—it’s a legacy built by generations of passionate employees, and we’re proud to celebrate their contributions as we look ahead to an exciting new era for the next century.” Employees at the June 5 event also received a commemorative Chrysler t-shirt and birthday cupcake and helped commemorate the Chrysler Century of Innovation with the dedication of a unique time-capsule, a replica of the toolbox Walter P. Chrysler used early in his career. The iconic toolbox, which held more than 60 tools and reflects Chrysler’s precision as a machinist, is a cherished family heirloom once displayed atop the Chrysler Building in New York City. Encased in the replica toolbox time capsule are rare memorabilia and artifacts, including historic Chrysler brand and vehicle badges showcasing the evolution of the brand and specialty vehicle launches, as well as historic brochures, merchandise, vehicle sketches, and a clever nod to Walter P. Chrysler. A list of names of those participating in the group photo was also included in the time capsule, as well as a letter from Chrysler brand CEO Feuell to future employees and customers.  Summer Century Celebration Chrysler is also announcing plans this summer to reach out and recognize the owners and enthusiasts who have supported the brand for decades, starting with the first-ever Chrysler-branded vehicle, the 1924 Chrysler Six, and today’s segment-leading 2025 Chrysler Pacifica. The brand will travel this summer with special displays and activations at popular automotive enthusiast events, including: Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, July 11-13, 2025, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, featuring nearly 3,000 vehicles from all eras of Chrysler and “Mopar” vehicles Woodward Cruise, the world’s biggest car cruise, taking place on Woodward Avenue in Metro Detroit on August 16, 2025 More details on Chrysler brand activities at Carlisle and Woodward will be shared later this summer. Le Mans 24 Hours: Preview TOYOTA GAZOO Racing aiming for its sixth Le Mans win

With its proven GR010 HYBRID race cars, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing aims to defeat a 21-strong Hypercar field – featuring a total of eight manufacturers – to win for the sixth time at La Sarthe and strengthen its bid for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) titles. Le Mans offers double points, which can accelerate the team’s World Championship challenge. It currently sits second in the manufacturers’ standings after maintaining a 100% points-scoring run in the season’s opening three rounds, despite difficult circumstances. On the 40th anniversary of Toyota’s first participation at Le Mans, the team will fight for victory in front of a sell-out crowd of over 320,000 fans and show off a unique combination of livery designs on its two GR010 HYBRID race cars, which highlights its iconic past and determined present. The #7 GR010 HYBRID of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries will carry a red and white livery inspired by the TS020 which participated in 1998. This one-off design is intended to excite fans by connecting them with endurance racing’s rich history, strengthening their passion for motorsports. The #8 GR010 HYBRID – driven by Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa – represents the present. Its matt black livery is built around a GR logo, capturing the team’s “Hate to lose” spirit and the “Prototype” concept of making ever-better motorsports-bred cars and continuous evolution. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s countdown to Le Mans kicked off with an in-house event on 7 May at the team’s base in Cologne, Germany. After the arrival of the hybrid powertrains – the beating hearts of the GR010 HYBRIDs – from Higashi-Fuji in Japan, employees in Cologne joined the race team to express their never-give-up spirit and determination to challenge as one team for victory in Le Mans. On-track preparations for the 93rd Le Mans 24 Hours will begin with the official test day on Sunday, the only opportunity for teams to drive on the Circuit de la Sarthe before official practice sessions begin on Wednesday 11 June. This year’s race will take Toyota to 27 appearances since it made its Le Mans debut in 1985. Prior to this year’s race, a total of 61 Toyota cars have competed at La Sarthe, in 26 editions of the Le Mans 24 Hours, earning five wins, 18 podiums and eight pole positions, whilst also setting the fastest-ever lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe, achieved by Kamui in 2017. Toyota advances its technology through participation at Le Mans, where components must withstand high temperatures and extreme vibrations over 24 hours of racing. Since returning to La Sarthe in 2012, Toyota has competed exclusively with hybrid powertrains, strengthening this technology in an arena which requires both high performance and exceptional efficiency. The 2025-specification GR010 HYBRID features a 200 kW (272PS) hybrid motor on the front axle to deliver four-wheel drive, alongside a 3.5litre V6 twin-turbo engine, which runs on 100% renewable biofuel. As well as the unique GR010 HYBRID liveries, the 40th anniversary is also celebrated at a dedicated fan area in the Manufacturers Village. Meanwhile, there will be a glimpse of the future at the Hydrogen Village, which highlights ongoing hydrogen racing projects and showcases how motorsports contribute to the development of technologies with the potential to achieve a carbon neutral, sustainable future. Fans can get up close to the GR010 HYBRIDs on Saturday 7 June, when the two race cars join the traditional scrutineering in Le Mans centre, while another GR010 HYBRID takes part in a procession through the city, starting at 3pm. Practice begins with two sessions on 11 June either side of qualifying, which determines the 15 competitors who will progress to Hyperpole. Those 15 cars will participate in a 20-minute Hyperpole 1 on Thursday at 9.05pm, to fight to be among the 10 fastest cars who will compete for the leading grid positions in the 15-minute Hyperpole 2, starting at 9.40pm. After Friday’s driver parade, the race begins on Saturday 14 June at 4pm. As previously announced, the EGM will resolve the proposed appointment of Mr. Antonio Filosa as an executive director of the Company. Antonio Filosa is a veteran of the Company with a proven track record of hands-on success spanning over 25 years in the automotive industry. He has led Stellantis in both North and South America as well as in Global Quality. During his time as Chief Operating Officer of South America, the FIAT brand gained a market-leading position, along with significant growth in the Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep® brands. As a result, Stellantis became a clear industry leader in the region. He led the startup of the Pernambuco plant, one of South America’s largest automotive hubs, and launched Jeep® in Brazil, which became the brand’s leading market outside of the United States. [Toyota Times] Akio Toyoda safeguards family’s legacy while looking to Toyota’s future

To hear Chairman Akio Toyoda tell it, the year 1925 was just as special for the Japanese juggernaut Toyota Motor Corp. as it was for Automotive News. The world’s biggest automaker wasn’t even in the car business at the time. But that year, the namesake company founded by Toyoda’s forefathers changed the course of history by starting mass production of its breakthrough Type G automatic loom. The product’s runaway success kicked off one of the world’s most successful corporate dynasties and cemented the Toyoda lineage’s legacy in the annals of all-time industrial greats. It was also the year this Detroit publication was founded. And as Automotive News looks back 100 years, it salutes Akio Toyoda and his family, stretching back four generations, with a Centennial Award for distinguished achievement and service over the years. “We can say 1925 was a special year not just for Automotive News, but also for Toyota Motor. It was a very significant year, and probably a game-changer year,” Toyoda says, noting that his father, Shoichiro Toyoda, a longtime president and chairman, was also born in 1925. Revenue from the Type G created the solid financial foundation for branching into the then-nascent world of autos. And its impact is so consequential, Toyota proudly displays a restored loom in the lobby of its Tokyo executive suite, next to a replica of the company’s first car, the Model AA. “Mass production for this very loom began in 1925,” Toyoda said, gesturing to the machine. “In the U.S. at that time, cars were already popular and there were about 3 million cars produced in the U.S. and running on the roads. But Toyota the car company didn’t even exist yet.” The sprawling industrial dynasty didn’t just turbocharge Japan on its path to economic riches. Its most famous progeny, Toyota Motor Corp., changed the face of the global auto industry. Reflecting on the remarkable journey, Toyoda, in a March 25 sit down for the Centennial Award, traced the original spark to his great-grandfather Sakichi Toyoda.
