The Miami Design District is a great place to shop some of the more glamorous stores in the area. However, we love it for the great car spotting opportunities.
Miami has been known for its exotic cars since the days of the Cocaine Cowboys in the 1980s. Now you have a generation that grew up watching Miami Vice and hung posters of Lamborghinis on their walls. And guess what? Many of them made their dreams come true.
Of course, some of the automotive manufacturers took notice as well. Teslas has a beautiful showroom that fits perfectly in Miami’s Design District.
And boutique automotive manufacturer, Ares Design, with showrooms in France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Germany, setup their exclusive American presence right here in Miami’s Design District.
And you can see why these manufacturers decided to move to Miami. Miami has an incredible car culture. And let’s be honest, Miami attracts a lot of people with a lot of money. That wealth translates into sales to high end customers that can afford some of these pricey rides.
As part of the interesting Miami Car Culture being exhibited within the design district, we found this curious piece of art. It’s a Sunoco gas station side made to appear as an edible chocolate bar
Have you been by the design district lately? You may want to spend an afternoon and enjoy the shops, the people watching, and of course, the beautiful cars.
