The Other-Worldly Fisker Ronin: What We Know So Far

The entire staff at Miamicars.com is rooting for California EV startup Fisker. The automaker’s Ocean and Pear models are truly groundbreaking all-electric SUVs. And for a few months now, we’ve been anticipating a definitive announcement regarding delivery of Fisker’s answer to Tesla, Polestar , Lambo, Lucid and others — The 1,000-hp Ronin. Looks like late this year or perhaps into 2024.

So here’s what we know about the Fisker Rōnin. The Ronin will be a four-seat all-electric grand touring coupe, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in around 2 seconds, and it has a targeted range of over 600 miles. The styling is sublime: the Rōnin features a carbon-fiber hardtop roof and four butterfly-style doors — plus it features a completely vegan interior and active aerodynamics technology. We’ve seen just a scare few photos, these images are courtesy of the Fisker site.

By the way, the name Rōnin Fisker is based on the Hollywood film — and for its spectacular car chase scenes.

Fisker started developing the Ronin concept in 2021 to offer customers an alternative to luxury gasoline grand tourers — competing with luxury electric sedans, luxury gasoline sedans, and luxury sports coupes, and all luxury convertibles that cost $100,000 or more.

According to the Fisker website, “The Fisker Ronin is the world’s first all-electric, four-door convertible GT sports car. Beautifully designed with sleek, powerful lines, the Fisker Ronin represents the height of Fisker’s technology and performance. Starting at $385,000 before any incentives.”

Innovations Galore

The Fisker Ronin has been designed for high-speed cruising — showcasing Fisker’s latest engineering, powertrain and technical developments. In a January 4, 2023 interview, Henrik Fisker said that the company is working on a foldable hardtop roof for the Ronin, which would be extremely lightweight as well.

The interior design of the Ronin is to be unique and spacious, with Fisker counting on the 5-seat grand tourer to be as capable as a luxury sedan and comfortably carry a fully-grown adult in the back. It will also have the capability to receive over-the-air (OTA) software updates for its onboard systems, like in the Fisker Ocean.

Stay tuned. More to come.
