I need to immediately sell my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT. It’s currently not operable and has been in a storage unit for a year and a half. I was hoping to get it fixed someday, but that doesn’t seem likely and it’s costing me too much being in storage. Prior to being there, it was parked outdoors for about 4 years.
Here is the current condition of the SUV / vehicle:
• Front right passenger door is dented in and can’t be opened. Car was in an accident and door was screwed in. Car drove just fine after this accident for years.
• Engine needs to be replaced, which is what made the car inoperable. Oil change was not done in time and the engine went bad. A replacement engine was put in, but it was a VIN E engine instead of a VIN K engine. The people I bought from ensured me it wouldn’t be an issue. The people I found to change the engine tried then to convert the VIN E engine to a VIN K engine. This was partially successful, as I was able to drive the vehicle around just fine for about a day or two. After lots of frustration, going through lots of mechanics, and losing lots of time and more importantly, lots of money, I decided to call it quits and financed a car instead.
• Left back tire needs air.
• Once the battery receives a jump, the vehicle can be put in neutral and pushed – that’s what occurred when I got it placed into the storage unit.
• There are no other issues and if the engine is changed out, this should run just fine again.
I need this to be sold in the next one to two days, because it’s very difficult to get anything out of the storage unit until the vehicle is removed. I will need some time (anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour) also to remove items from inside and on top of the vehicle prior to you taking it away.
