Not sure what to ask for a totaled 96 Impala. Not trying to get asking price, shoot me an offer. You must tow it out of here. Located in Boynton Beach, FL. All pics are from May 2023 with the exception of the ones that say “day of accident”

Where to begin… I guess first off – Totaled / salvage title/ parts car, I will not part anything out. Complete car, absolutely as is, must be towed. Obviously no warranty or anything like that. Paper title in hand. Messages asking “how much for (x) shipped” will be ignored. Messages along the lines of “whats your bottom dollar” will also be ignored. Shoot me an offer and the worst I say is no thanks.

For sale is my totaled / salvage title 1996 DCM impala ss with 77k original miles. My personal daily driver for the last 10 years. You are more than welcome to check it out / have anyone check it out before buying. You are also more than welcome to have it towed to and back from any mechanic you want, on your dollar. The engine still starts right up no issue, but wont drive only because the rear driver wheel well is bent downward in a way where if you drive it, it’ll cut up the tire a little. There’s already a little damage to the tire from just loading it on and off tow trucks since the accident. The car will 100% need to be towed / transported. I can arrange for someone to be here (if I’m not available) to have the transport / tow truck driver deal with (in case you’re in another state or far away). Transport / towing cost is on you.

The car was smashed into (accident #2) on February 26th 2023 while parked, and hit on the driver side. The quarter panel is crunched, quarter window smashed, the wheel well and rear driver door is crinkled like a chip bag, also rear driver passenger door window smashed, the front driver door is scraped up and has a big paint chip, and the side mirror is gone. I *think* it has frame damage because the back half of the car looks like its shifted a little towards the passenger side. I could be wrong. You can see the driver side exhaust is poking out from the rear and the passenger side is kind of tucked under the bumper. The trunk lid is also shifted (but still closes) as well as the roof got a little crinkled by the driver doors . I tried my best to vacuum up all the broken glass from the interior, but I didn’t get all of it. I jacked rear driver side up and the wheel doesn’t move up along with the car, so I think there’s something wrong with the rear axle. Only the passenger doors open, and the rear passenger can be finicky.

This is going to be all over the place, so bear with me.

History of the car: This car was purchased by the first owners (older lady drove it) and they put 40k miles on it. The car was dinged by a drunk driver ( accident #1, while parked), and she sold it to her neighbor in I want to say 2012/2013 (so she put like 2.3k miles a year average). The neighbor wanted to fix before he drove it, but had some money problems and shortly after put it up for sale, and I bought it. I fixed the damage, added the cowl hood, and had a complete paint job done. Technically I’m the 3rd owner but really I’m the 2nd person to drive the car. The car has been my daily driver since 2013 and now has 77k miles, so in 10 years I’ve put 37k on the odometer which is about 3.7K miles a year which is not much. The car has never let me down. City driving, bumper to bumper, road trips, hauling ass on 95, all good. Motor and trans are original and still crank right up no issues. If you come check out the car I can either crank it up cold in front of you so you can hear it fire up, or I can let it run before you get here to see theres no overheating / smoking / knocking / anything with the motor. Only thing I think I’ve ever replaced under the hood is the brake master cylinder and radiator. Everything else motor wise is original

Exterior: Rims are decent. Tires are good. Key parts steel cowl hood, but has big paint chips and needs complete body work if harvested. Front bumper has some spider cracks and a ding on the bottom, also the trim insert removed. Passenger fender has power antenna delete (power antenna removed, hole filled in for a shaved look). Passenger doors are good. Passenger quarter panel has damage at the impala ss script from before the accident. Trunk is shifted to the passnger side from the accident but still closes. OEM spoiler is ugly and is just bolted down, not adhesived (had custom one but removed it). The key lock for the trunk was lost during paint so i put the emblem on, then found it years later and never got around to installing it (trunk key lock is in center console). “Lil ron” 91 tail lights painted DCM but the strip down the middle has some paint chips. Rear driver quarter / wheel well and driver rear door is smashed real good. Front driver door has scrapes and driver side mirror is gone. Paint has issues, also some sun fading from baking in the FL sun.

Interior: Top dash is good but has adhesive leftover from the velcro from the dash mat and is missing defrost vent. Lower dash is good but has a couple cracks that I only noticed since the accident. Analog 96 cluster is good, all gages work, odometer display is still good. Steering wheel isnt the best and has cut on the top 12oclock position, gray wheel cover. Center console is good. Driver seat has cuts and cracks. Driver door panel is mostly good. Carpet is good with no major stains. The wires underneath the driver floor mat is for the chevy astro van overhead console (which I never got around to finishing). I wanted two cig lighters so I spliced into the original and added another. The original trip button is still there and can be put back to OEM. Passenger seat also has cracks and cuts. Missing front passenger floor mat. Front passenger door panel is good. Front door panels have roadmaster clear lens courtesy lights. Rear seats are decent but also has cuts and rips. Rear driver door panel is there but yellow and ugly, missing window switch bezel and the black bezel is cracked and sitting on the bench. Rear parcel carpet is good condition. Rear speakers removed so the bass can blow through. Rear passenger door panel is good but yellowed. Missing ash tray insert. Headliner / sun visor fabric is garbage and was planning on going suede when adding the astro van overhead.

Audio: Alpine 9887 head unit with old school ipod hookup in glove box , remote control and bluetooth adapter. No power antenna. Sundown 6.5’s in front doors, tweeter in A pillar. Audio cables (minus battery power wire) for a system are there, but the system has been removed. Viper 5704 alarm with remote start to get the AC going during the summer, but it stopped working a few months ago and I never got around to fixing it, I think i still have both remotes.

Engine / Misc : 77k original mile LT1 350 with 4L60E trans. Trans gave me no issues ever. Engine is good, never gave me any problems. No leaks or smoking or knocking. Never did spark plugs / wires or optispark or waterpump or anything else thats known to fail on these engines. Autocraft gold battery. AC works but isn’t the best. Magnaflow exhaust with like 2.5 oval pipes out the rear, not sure if full / catback or whatever specifics. New shocks all around about 2 years ago. Eibach 3837.140 pro kit lowering springs, maybe 1-1.5 inches lower than stock. Engine throws check engine light code i think P144 which is improper purge valve, something that has to do with fuel vapors routed up front and ran through a charcoal canister in the front bumper before purged into the atmosphere. Prolly $50- $60 worth of gas in tank put it right before the accident (so i filled up around february 25th) . Windshield wiper fluid reservoir has a leak (low light on dash) and the alarm horn is just kind hangin there.

Car was totaled by insurance company. I had to transfer the title to them, buy the car back, then transfer the title back to me so I can sell it. So the vin check should show 5 owners (original owner from 1996 – 2012, their neighbor in 2012, me in 2013, insurance in 2023, back to me in 2023) but really there’s been 2 and I’m the second

Now I think thats it. Any questions that I haven’t answered shoot me a message. Can take more pics of anything specific for you. Im sure I missed some stuff and will be adding as I remember
