This Toyota runs great. It has been mechanically well maintained. Always synthetic oil. No major accidents. VIN: JT5FG02T9V0042912
PROS:
5 speeds. Especial Edition, 135K miles. Full power, 4 cylinders 2.4 cc engine, 27 mpg, Regular gas, Beautiful lines, resembles Jaguar J12. Everything original and works, low miles, Drives very well, a great platform for a renovation. Top in good condition, 6 years old. Michelins. The radio antenna still goes up and down, really cool!
CONS:
Needs a full paint job (gives you a chance to be creative!), Driver seat needs new leather skin, Left roof motor slips first foot up, it works ok going down. One door sensor is stock and affects cruise control.
This is a good solid car in need of TLC, very few in the country with 5 speeds. No rust, always in Florida, good Michelins. I used to be a speed addict with my 87 Integra and BMW K100 bike. When got older, I slowed down to speed limits (my license got clean). With this Celica, I usually drive at 30 mph along A1A at night with the top down, the car drives like a beautiful lady. Once in a while, someone passes me in the highway and I bring her to 110 ++ mph (for a few moments, it gets the wife all roused up!) and this Celica settles, roars, and grabs the road…
Two years ago, we drove her from Florida to Quebec, Canada, with the top down! along the Blue Ridge pkwy, Skyline drive, the Poconos, Catskills and all the mountains I could find. A trip to remember!. Coming down we did some highways and she cruised at 80 without any effort.
I am 74, and drive my Prius must of the time. The wife has bad clutch knee, This Celica is my toy car. We take her for a spin twice a week. The price is firm. If I do not get my price, will restore her and enjoy her good manners for a few more years. This car deserves a good restoration and be admired in her glory once again. Once I get antique license plates, the value will increase.
PS: Pictures a bit outdated, if interested will text you current ones, or walk around the car on video before you come see her. No surprises and will disclose all I know, good and bad.
