Lia Toyota of Wilbraham Shows 'Real Men Wear Pink' in October

Liu Toyota’s “Real Men Wear Pink” event helped raise over $6,000 for the American Cancer Society.

During the month of October, Lia Toyota of Wilbraham rallied around the American Cancer Society for a special “Real Men Wear Pink” fundraiser. Spearheaded by General Manager John Kupec, the dealership raised $6,097 to help in the fight against cancer.

“I’m proud to represent the amazing team at Lia Toyota of Wilbraham in support of the American Cancer Society,” Kupec said. “This disease affects everyone, so it’s up to each of us to do our part to save lives. Together we’ve raised an amazing amount, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of our community.”

The Real Men Wear Pink campaign is a critical effort for the American Cancer Society. More than 2,700 men were expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 alone – as well as more than 287,000 of their daughters, wives, mothers, sisters and friends. The campaign was designed to use the power of wearing pink to draw attention to the cause, in addition to raising funds and awareness through events and social media for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives.

“Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer,” said Stephen Morelli, senior development manager, Northeast Region for the American Cancer Society. “With the help and support of John and other Real Men Wear Pink Ambassadors nationwide, we are able invest $71 million into breast cancer research in the hopes of finding a cure.”
