Best Exotic Cars from the 2021 Miami Auto Show

Millionaire Alley used to be the corner of the Miami Auto Show that had the ultra exotics.  The super cars.   The hyper cars.  As a kid, I remember seeing my first Aston Martin Lagonda at Millionaire Alley inside the Auto Show.  Of course, there were Ferraris and Lamborghinis and Rolls Royces, but that 1980s era Aston Martin Lagonda was the epitomy of what you’d find inside Millionaire Alley.

For years, The Collection out of Coral Gables, was the primary dealer that would supply these exotic cars for the purpose of showcasing the vehicles at the show.  However, these days, everyone knows that The Collection is the place to get some of South Florida’s most outrageous vehicles.  However, the cost to participate at the show was not yielding the kind of return the dealer would have liked.  So The Collection pulled out of the Miami Auto Show some years ago.

As such, the Miami Auto Show lost some of its appeal.  The crowds loved seeing some of the most extreme and most expensive cars available in the world.  Without that draw, the crowds grew smaller.

Fully aware of this, the Miami Auto Show was creative and worked with local South Florida dealers and even exotic rental car companies to fill the void.  And boy did they.

Let’s start off with the Miami Exotic Auto Racing and its parent company, Sienna Motors.  They brought in a wide variety of exotics including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Mercedes, Porsches, and more.

MPH Club, the exotic rental car company based out of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach also brought in a Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and G-Wagon…All of which you can rent.

You know it’s going to be stylish driving around South Beach in these vehicles.

Ferco Motors out of Miami also brought some exotics including a Ferrari California and a Godzilla, super wide Ford F-150 extreme truck.

Ferrari California

Not to be outdone, Miami Supercar Rooms showcased some of their lovely ladies including this incredibly rare Tuscan TVR.

Miami Supercar Rooms also had some more of the traditional exotics in the form of a Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Lotus.

Ocean Automotive Group

The Ocean Automotive Group was also at the Auto Show and they came fully loaded with some big guns including McLarens, Maybachs, Lamborghinis, and even the Spirit of Miami.

Of course, we loved the white and black McLaren shown below.

Miami Benz Club

The Miami Benz Club also brought in an assortment of vehicles including Mercedes, Audi, and Aston Martin.

Best Exotics:  ’21 Miami Auto Show

So now that you know about the incredibly wide variety of super cars and exotics, let’s rank our favorites.  We’ll start with a countdown from number 10 to number 1.  Let’s roll.

10 – TVR Tuscan Speed Six

This is a rare British exotic with a unique style from the late ’90s and early 2000s.  You’ll notice the rounded edges of the TVR compared to the harder edges in more modern designs.  Just look at the hard lines in the Lambo behind it.

These cars are capable of hitting 60 mph in under 4 seconds and 100 mph in just 8 seconds.

Special thanks to Miami Supercar Rooms for presenting this vehicle at the show.

9 – Porsche 911 GT3 RS

This is not your every day Porsche 911.  This is a purpose built track car designed with a rigid race chassis and an ultra light body.  This is not a “Grand Tourer” designed for comfort.  This car lacks creature comforts.

Who the fXXX needs creature comforts on a race track?  Please.  Don’t buy a Porsche 911 GT3 RS to drive to the country club.  You buy this car so that you can race it at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  Don’t buy this to head to the Biltmore. We have other cars for that.  You buy this to use every engineering advantage this car has to reward you on the race track.

8 – Silver Ferrari 488 GTB – 51

I know Ferraris always look great in red.  But this silver Ferrari 488 GTB was incredibly sleek and sexy.

We love how the racing stripes weren’t gratuitous.  The lines along the side accentuate the sculpting of this gorgeous Italian supercar.

The subtle 51 is tucked low.  It doesn’t have to be huge to let you know it’s a race car.

I think we fell in love with the grace of this vehicle.  No crazy wings.  It’s not red.  It’s subtle and so sexy.

7 – Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R

Mercedes Benz was a no show at this year’s Miami Auto Show.  But thanks to folks like Sienna Motors and the Miami Benz Club, we were still able to share some of these beautiful models with the masses.Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R Coupe

The AMG GT R is a track ready version of the beautiful AMG GT.  This sexy beast features 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.  That power will rip this Benz to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R CoupeWe love it because it’s such a bad ass, over the top machine coming from the folks that design the finest German luxury machines.

6 – Ferrari 812 Superfast

There is something special about a naturally aspirated Italian V12 engine. There has always been a uniqueness and excellence surrounding the brand of Ferrari.

Ferrari 812 Superfast

This car is the evolution of the Ferrari F12 and it’s more ludicrous in almost every way. The 812 Superfast has an admittedly odd name, but when you get behind the wheel for yourself, you’ll truly understand. This 6.5 liter naturally aspirated V12 engine produces 788 horsepower and staggering 529-pound feet of torque. The seven-speed dual-clutch system can glide through gears and take your breath away in a launch at ease. You can take off from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a startling 2.8 seconds. This is a true supercar built in mind with the comfort of a grand touring vehicle.

Ferrari 812 Superfast

And if you haven’t noticed already, this is a true GT.  A Grand Tourer meant to be more comfortable and more practical than the more extreme track designed Ferraris.  It matches the insane power and performance in a front engine, rear wheel drive vehicle.

Ferrari 812 SuperfastIn true Ferrari fashion, it’s sexy no matter what angle you look at it.

5 – Purple Lamborghini Aventador

Maybe we’re channelling our Rick Ross and Skrillex, but we loved seeing this “Purple Lamborghini Lurkin'” And yes, we can totally see the Joker screaming down Biscayne Boulevard in this purple demon.

If that pop culture reference didn’t resonate, you can watch the Rick Ross Purple Lamborghini music video shot in Miami below:

What do you think?  Fit for South Beach or better off with the purple people eaters of the Minnesota Vikings?

4 – Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti Tailor Made

This Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti was tailor made for race car driver, Claude Senhoreti. It’s a factory track car made exclusively for race car drivers.

We loved the understated look, the bright Ferrari red, and the classic Ferrari lines.

And it’s now available for sale from Sienna Motors for just under $1.2 Million.

3 – McLaren 720S

A light and strong supercar shaped by the forces of nature. Honed by the elements. Poised for attack. And ferociously fast. Yet beautifully made, tactile and effortlessly usable, every day.

The McLaren 720S is purposeful and radical. With apex predator responses. It accelerates from 0-60mph in an incredible 2.8 seconds when provoked. And can cover a quarter of a mile in 10.4 seconds. From a standing start.

But raw figures don’t reveal the whole story. There is pure driver engagement and contemporary luxury here too. In depth. A thrilling, accessible, natural balance.

Evolution in full flight.

2 – McLaren 600LT

When it’s just you. The car. Raw and uncompromised. An empty road ahead. Calling you. Total focus. Pure adrenaline. This is the moment to push yourself. To the very edge of your ability.

This is the 600LT. It lives and breathes the relentless spirit of its ‘Longtail’ predecessors. United by the same singular focus. To push performance and driving to the absolute edge.

This is not a car for the faint-hearted. This is a track animal let loose on the road. Our new sportscar benchmark. The fastest, most powerful and most extreme – yet road legal – Sports Series. Ever.

I know what you’re thinking.  How’s a 600LT ranked ahead of the 720S?

The answer:  Looks. We just fell in love with the white and black contrast and how the contrast magnified the sculpted beauty of this car.

1 – McLaren Senna

The most track focused road car McLaren has ever built, and it will set the fastest lap times of any McLaren to date. That is what has driven McLaren to build a track car that is unashamedly without compromise. One that is legalized for road use, but not sanitized to suit it. Nothing else matters but to deliver the most intense driving experience around a circuit.

McLaren Senna

Inspired by one of McLaren’s greatest racing drivers, the late Ayrton Senna, the McLaren Senna is utterly dedicated to allowing the driver to be the best they can possibly be.

For us, this was a no brainer.  McLaren’s finest was the absolute finest Hyper Car at the 2021 Miami International Auto Show.

Special thanks to Sienna Motors and Miami Exotic Auto Racing for presenting this incredible piece of exotic machinery.
