Update: Gas prices have gotten even higher now hovering around $4.29 / gallon.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE POSTED MARCH 6TH:
This came on even faster than expected, but driving in Miami, just got a whole lot more expensive. We’re seeing gas prices hovering around $3.99 or higher throughout Miami. These pics were taken on NW 36th Street on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
We know a lot of folks are driving again that were not driving during the pandemic. So there’s more demand. But there’s also the issue of supply. I don’t want to get political, but we have to frank, honest, and objective. During the prior administration, the United States became a net exporter of fuel. The new administration cut pipeline projects, but is accepting oil from Russia? We need to do everything in our power to increase domestic fuel production to increase domestic supply and also cutoff the major source of income for Russia…gas.
If fuel prices continue to climb like this, we will see even further inflation. Every physical good needs to get transported by a vehicle that uses gas. You don’t see UPS and Amazon trucks running on EVs yet, do you?
We hope the administration does everything it can to boost domestic fuel production before things get too ugly. Hopefully, it’s not too late.
How are you adjusting to the fuel increases? Where have you found the lowest priced gas in Miami?
