Ocean Drive is set to reopen to cars on January 24, 2022, after almost two years of being closed to vehicular traffic. According to The Miami Herald, cars will only be allowed to head southbound on Ocean Drive from 13th Street to 5th Street. You still can’t make a left hand turn from 5th Street to Ocean Drive as northbound traffic is not allowed.
The Herald also reported that the northbound public parking along Ocean Drive has been replaced with a two way bike lane. This may be the end of some of the classic photography of exotics cars on Ocean Drive. It may also be the end of just cruising by and people watching so many of have enjoyed growing up in Miami.
