Folks, it can flood in Miami. The main thing to do when it floods is not to drive your vehicle through flooded streets. This is especially true if you have a sports car with low ground clearance and a low air intake. (Once the water gets into your air intake, you’ve flooded the car. Buh bye engine.)
However, if you leave your car in a garage, you’d figure it’ll be safe. Heck, it shouldn’t even get wet. It’s in a garage. That is, of course, unless your garage is below ground, and all the rain water floods in, and the garage doesn’t have sufficient drainage and/or active pump to remove said excess water.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened at this Miami Garage. It was totally flooded. You can see in the video posted to Instagram how the high water mark on the wall was above the level of most of these vehicles. Will they be salvageable? I’m sure. But this is going to be a very expensive insurance claim.
The flooded vehicles include:
- Rolls-Royce Cullinans
- Corvettes
- Ferraris
- Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
- Possibly a Honda S2000
